Meanwhile, Meredith Salenger compares it to a scene from classic movie 'The Journey of Natty Gann', in which her titular character tearfully bid farewell to her beloved companion Wolf.

AceShowbiz - "Game of Thrones" season 8 aired its episode 4 on Sunday, May 5. The episode followed the aftermath of the Battle of Winterfell. The characters made decision on their next plan after defeating the Night King and his army of the Dead. The episode also featured what happened to Jon Snow's direwolf Ghost, though fans were not happy with the storylines.

Titled "The Last of the Starks", the episode left fans disappointed after Jon appeared to give up his beloved family pet. As he moved forward to King's Landing to fight for Daenerys Targaryen, he gave Ghost to Tormund, who was heading north with the rest of Wildlings to rebuild the Night's Watch.

"A direwolf has no place in the South," he told Tormund. However, it was unknown if Jon was referring to King's Landing as "the South," or he was agreeing with Tormund who considered Winterfell as "the South" from his much more northern perspective.

Ghost has been very faithful to Jon by staying behind him though thick and thin. Thus, fans saw his decision to give Ghost away as disloyal and ungrateful. What made it more painful was that Jon didn't even bid farewell to his pet. Ghost looked heartbroken when Jon turned to see him and walked away.

"Jon: *hugs Tormund* *hugs Sam* *even hugs Gilly who he doesn’t know very well* Ghost: Am I a joke to you?" one fan tweeted. "I might be madder about Ghost than literally anything else YOU DO NOT ABANDON YOUR CGI DOGGO EVER," another angry fan said.

"If this is the #GameOfThrones writers/show runners making it up as they go along, be afraid. Be very afraid. What a hot mess that was. Like Ghost, we deserve better," one other added. "Years of character development thrown away just like that. Completely unnecessary, nonsensical. Way too predictable with sloppy writing all over the place. Saying it was a mess is an understatement. One of the worst episodes, ever," a user critized.

Meanwhile, Meredith Salenger compared it to a scene from 1985's children classic "The Journey of Natty Gann", in which her titular character tearfully bid farewell to her beloved companion Wolf. "This is the proper way to say goodbye to your faithful wolf! #YouKnowNothingJonSnow," she tweeted alongside a video from her movie.
