Thus, the Duchess of Sussex was allegedly upset when she learned that one of the dishes to be served at the nuptials contained eggs. "[Meghan] got very upset when she felt that she could taste egg in a dish when she was told there was no egg in there," claimed Katie Nicholl, a British best-selling author and royal correspondent for Vanity Fair, to Yahoo's Royal Box on Friday, May 3.

"She said, 'No, I can taste it, I can taste there's egg in this dish,' " Nicholl added.

The situation changed after Queen Elizabeth approached her. "I think there was a bit of an upset when suddenly the queen walked in because of course, this was Windsor Castle, this is her home," continued the source. "And she just quietly took Meghan to the side and said, 'Meghan, in this family, we don't speak to people like that.' "

It was not the first time that Meghan and the Queen had differing opinions. The pregnant royal was previously criticized for allegedly choosing an emerald tiara that the 93-year-old reigning monarch didn't approve of.

Of the tiara drama, royal journalist and author Robert Jobson said, "I don't think Meghan was being difficult when she was picking out a tiara. I think Harry was probably being overly defensive and overly protective."
