AceShowbiz - All the winners at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards have been announced following its live ceremony at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Wednesday, May 1. Drake came out as the biggest winner at the annual event, bagging home 12 categories. Some of them were the biggest categories, including Top Artist and Top Billboard 200 Album for "Scorpion".
"Scorpion" additionally nabbed Top Rap Album, while its mega hit single was announced as the winner of Top Streaming Song (Video). Other categories that the Canadian hip-hop superstar won were Top Male Artist, Top Radio Artist, Top Song Sales Artist and Top Billboard 200 artist. Trailing behind Drake was biggest nominee Cardi B, who notched 6 accolades. Three of them were thanks to her collaboration with Maroon 5, "Girls Like You".
During the live ceremony, Mariah Carey was honored with Icon Award. She said during her acceptance speech, "I just wanted to create something so I could feel worthy of existing. And if I've learned anything, anything at all in this life it's that truly all things are possible with God. Without getting into all the drama, all the ups and downs of my career, we've all seen them, we all make mistakes... There's been a few memes."
The singing diva also thanked all the people who had supported her throughout her career, dedicating her award to anybody "who doesn't allow themselves to be broken and keeps getting up and keeps holding on and keeps standing tall, keeps on believing and keeps rising."
Other 2019 Billboard Music Awards winners included Ariana Grande, who brought home Billboard Chart Achievement Award and Top Female Artist, as well as BTS (Bangtan Boys), who nabbed Top Duo/Group and Top Social Artist. Meanwhile, power couple Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles won Top R&B Tour and Top Rap Tour.
