Following the footsteps of Rita Ora, Lena Waithe and Ryan Murphy among others, the 'Suicide Squad' actress will be celebrated at the LGBTQ non-profit organization's New York gala in June.

AceShowbiz - Model and actress Cara Delevingne is set to be feted with the Hero Award for her longtime support of LGBTQ non-profit The Trevor Project.
The "Suicide Squad" star will be the guest of honour at the organisation's upcoming TrevorLIVE New York gala, where she will also be recognised for her philanthropy and activism work, after using her fame to publicly address issues like mental health and the rights of women and members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community, of which she is a member.
"I'm humbled and truly speechless by The Trevor Project's decision to honour me with this year's Hero Award," she shares in a statement.
"A hero to me is someone who stands up for what they believe in," the bisexual star continues. "They help to make change for those who are underserved or discriminated against. I strive to acknowledge those who feel like they don't fit into a box and make sure they know, in both good and bad times, that there is always someone there to support them.
"I'm inspired and motivated by The Trevor Project's tireless, life-saving work to support LGBTQ youth in crisis, and I'm extremely proud to be a part of such a resilient community."
Cara follows in the footsteps of previous honourees, including pal Rita Ora, actress Lena Waithe, TV moguls Ryan Murphy and Greg Berlanti, and fashion designer Tom Ford.
Officials at The Trevor Project, who work towards lowering suicide rates among LGBTQ youths, will hold their annual gala at Cipriani Wall Street on June 17.
