The TV personality reportedly receives a welfare check from police after an anonymous caller who claims to be working at her production company accuses Kevin Hunter of poisoning Wendy.

AceShowbiz - There were apparently more stories behind Wendy Williams and Kevin Hunter's marriage than people previously thought. Prior to filing for divorce from her then-husband and manager, it was said that the TV show host was poisoned by Kevin. This prompted police to pay a visit to their home and check on her well being.

In a police report obtained by TMZ, authorities came to their house in New Jersey back in January after receiving a report from an anonymous caller who claimed to be working at Wendy's production company. Kevin was initially "hesitant" to let them in because she was "sick and recovering from a health problem."

Police eventually got to enter the house and found Wendy covered in a blanket head-to-toe. When the cops asked the former executive producer of "The Wendy Williams Show" to leave the room so they could talk to Wendy alone, he refused. Meanwhile, the TV personality said that she was "recovering from a broken shoulder," something that she told her audience in December last year.

An officer eventually asked her about the poisoning accusation, to which she replied, "Well, I'm very popular." But after being pressed by the police, she became "tearful" and ultimately denied any poisoning had occurred. Kevin then said to the officers that there had never been any calls to their house over domestic violence complaints. In response to this, the cops said that they "couldn't recall any."

Wendy filed for divorce from Kevin on April 11 after nearly 23 years of marriage. The latter has since been ousted from "The Wendy Williams Show" as an executive producer and as her manager. While the reason for the split is unknown, Kevin has been rumored to be cheating on her with Sharina Hudson for a long time. The two allegedly welcomed their first child together last month.
