The founder and CEO of management/production company Anonymous Content, who was a cancer survivor, passed away on April 21 in Los Angeles with his cause of death being kept under wraps.

AceShowbiz - Oscar-winning producer Steve Golin has died, aged 64.

The founder and CEO of Anonymous Content and former CEO of Propaganda Films passed away on Sunday night (April 21) in Los Angeles.

Golin picked up the 2016 Best Picture Oscar for "Spotlight".

The cause of death has not been revealed, but the film boss was a cancer survivor, according to Deadline.

Golin also produced "The Revenant" and "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind".

He and his partner, Joni Sighvatsson, launched talent management and video production company Propaganda Films in 1986, and they are credited with discovering directors like David Fincher, Michael Bay, Spike Jonze, Antoine Fuqua, and Gore Verbinski.

Golin exited Propaganda in 1999 and founded management/production company Anonymous Content the following year.

His other movie hits included Jonze's "Being John Malkovich" and Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu's "Babel", while his small screen successes have included Nic Pizzolatto's drama "True Detective", "Mr. Robot", and Netflix hit "13 Reasons Why".

He's also the producer of George Clooney's upcoming limited series "Catch-22".

As a talent manager, he personally represented fellow Oscar winner Alfonso Cuaron, while his Anonymous stable included Emma Stone, Samuel L. Jackson, and Mahershala Ali.
