Just days after he insisted that he only talked to the slain 'Victory Lap' rapper to get a shirt he was looking to buy, Kerry Lathan finds himself released from Los Angeles' Men's Central Jail.

AceShowbiz - One of the men injured in the fatal shooting of rapper Nipsey Hussle has been released from jail following his arrest for a parole violation.

Kerry Lathan, 56, was hospitalised after the "Victory Lap" star was murdered outside his Marathon clothing store in Los Angeles on March 31, and then detained by police for consorting with Hussle, who is accused of having extensive links with the Rollin' 60s street gang.

As part of his parole following his release from prison on murder charges in 2018, Lathan was ordered to stay away from gang members or those with links to gangs.

He insisted his bust was bogus, claiming an employee at Hussle's store had suggested he speak to the rapper outside when he couldn't find the kind of shirt he was looking to buy.

Authorities have since decided not to pursue charges against Lathan, and he was freed from Los Angeles' Men's Central Jail on Saturday, April 20.

Police arrested Eric Holder, 29, following Hussle's death. He is facing life in prison after prosecutors charged him with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder. He has pleaded not guilty.
