AceShowbiz - Having been single since she split from Justin Bieber for good in March 2018, Selena Gomez was most recently rumored to be romantically linked to Niall Horan. While this isn't the first time the Disney alum was reported to be dating the One Direction star, their new dating rumors sparked after they were spotted together at a Lewis Capaldi gig on Wednesday, April 3.

Journalist Mike Wass who attended the show gushed about the Scottish singer-songwriter's performance in a tweet, while mentioning the celebrity guests who sat the same table next to him. "This guy's a f***ing star! (Also, unless I'm hallucinating, Selegend & Niall were sitting at the table next to me)," he wrote along with a clip of Lewis singing.

Instead of talking about the performance, it was the sighting of Selena and Niall together that got people freaking out. While Mike didn't say anything about the two young stars acting like a couple, fans wished they were an item.

"Omffg!!!! I hope they are dating or something like that," one commented on the post. "omgg are they dating," another curious fan asked. Someone else seemingly was in disbelief as asking, "As in Niall Horan and Selena Gomez???"

Selena and Niall have not commented on the news, but a source allegedly close to the "Wolves" singer has shut down the reports. "Selena thinks Niall is great and loves his music but they are not boyfriend and girlfriend despite some of the rumors," the source tells HollywoodLife.com.

Focusing on taking care of herself, "Selena is not really dating right now even though she thinks Niall is cute and totally talented, and she appreciates some of the nice things he has said about her," according to the source, who adds, "But she is not in any romantic relationship. She has been spending her time with friends, hanging out, and taking care of herself. Not that she wouldn't date Niall someday, she's just not seeing anyone right now."

Describing the 26-year-old actress/singer and the 25-year-old Irish singer as friends who are "very cool with each other," the source acknowledges though, "They have flirted in the past but Selena and dating is just not something she is interested in right now, even someone she thinks that is so cool and nice like Niall. Selena will find love at her own pace and time, but with Niall it's just not happening right now because she wants to be the best her before she shares herself romantically with anyone."

Selena and Niall were first rumored to be dating in 2015, but they never confirmed it.
