Dishing on details about the incident wherein her son was punched in the face outside a coffee shop in Studio City, Sharon Osbourne tells 'The Talk' viewers that the attacker has a mental illness.

AceShowbiz - Jack Osbourne was heckled by a bystander as he called police to arrest a homeless man who punched him in the face last week (ends April 05).

The TV personality's mum Sharon Osbourne opened up about her son's encounter with an unstable vagrant outside a Studio City, California coffee shop on her show "The Talk" on Monday, April 08, revealing he is OK.

"He was having his morning coffee, answering his emails. (It was) nine o'clock in the morning, and suddenly, bam, he got punched in the face," she explained. "He didn't see it coming; he was just on his phone. A homeless guy punched him in the face, and a guy that Jack was with kicked him (the attacker) in the ribs."

Sharon revealed Jack followed his attacker and called the police, who tased the homeless guy when he pulled a screwdriver on them, and then arrested him.

During the fuss, another man walked up to Osbourne and criticised him for having a homeless man arrested.

"He said, 'Why are you having him arrested? He's homeless...' and then said to Jack, 'But I did see him attack two women last week'," Sharon added. "You know what? Everybody wants to be kind, but if there's somebody that has a mental illness attacking people...".

Jack's alleged attacker was arrested for battery and assault.
