Corrin, who is set to make her feature film debut in 'Misbeheaviour', will portray the Princess of Wales in the upcoming season 4 of the Netflix royal drama.

AceShowbiz - Netflix's "The Crown" has found its Princess Diana. The critically acclaimed royal drama has tapped newcomer Emma Corin to take on the role of Lady Diana Spencer for its season 4.

Following the announcement, Corrin, who had a bit part on British drama "Grandchester", shared her excitement in a statement, "I have been glued to the show since the first episode and to think I'm now joining this incredibly talented acting family is just surreal." She went on saying, "Princess Diana was an icon, and her effect on the world remains profound and inspiring. To be given the chance to explore her through Peter Morgan's writing is the most exceptional opportunity, and I will strive to do her justice."

Series creator Morgan raved about Corrin in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "Emma is a brilliant talent who immediately captivated us when she came in for the part of Diana Spencer," he gushed. "As well as having the innocence and beauty of a young Diana, she also has, in abundance, the range and complexity to portray an extraordinary woman who went from anonymous teenager to becoming the most iconic woman of her generation."

Corrin is relatively new, though she is set to make her feature film debut in "Misbehaviour", a historical drama that follows the story of a group of women from the Women's Liberation Movement seeking to disrupt the 1970 Miss World beauty competition, which took place in London. Her credit also includes Epix's Batman drama "Pennyworth".

The forthcoming season 4 is set to begin filming later in 2019. It will center on Thatcher and Diana.

Meanwhile, season 3 of "The Crown" will follow Wilson era, the 1964-1970 and 1974-1976 terms of Prime Minister Howard Wilson. Starring Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II. Tobiaz Menzies as Prince Philip, Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret, Gillian Anderson as Margaret Thatcher, Marion Bailey as Queen Mother, and Josh O'Connor as Prince Charles, the new season doesn't have a premiere date just yet.
