Although the 'I Believe I Can Fly' hitmaker became hysterical during the course of the interview, the 'CBS This Morning' co-anchor believes he 'is open to another sit-down at a later date'.

AceShowbiz - R. Kelly and his team were pleased with the outcome of his explosive interview with U.S. newswoman Gayle King.
The disgraced R&B singer was quizzed for a segment on CBS News, which descended into farce when he cried, remonstrated and claimed he was being persecuted.
Despite the outcry over the over-the-top interview, Kelly, who has been charged with 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse, thought it went really well, and is even keen to sit down with King again for a follow-up.
"I think he is open to another sit-down at a later date," the 64-year-old journalist told the New York Post's Page Six at Variety's Power of Women luncheon on Friday, April 05. "I certainly hope so."
King was praised for keeping her cool during the interview, as the I "Believe I Can Fly" hitmaker got up out of his seat several times and became hysterical while denying the allegations made against him.
"I called (his team) the next day because it blew up in such a way, so I just wanted to take their temperature to see how they were feeling," she explained. "They were really pleased - because they thought people got to see how passionate he was."
"They got to see his pain, and maybe they got to look at it in a different way," she added.
King confessed she was apprehensive making the phone call, as she was worried Kelly and his team would've been upset at the negative response.
"I kind of made the (phone) call like, 'Ehhhh...,' but they were like, 'Look, we're so glad you called!' " she shared.

During the Variety event, three women who accused Kelly of sexual abuse in Lifetime's recent documentary, "Surviving R. Kelly", addressed the crowd and received a standing ovation.
