The 48-year-old star discussed Dennis' funeral in the April 3 episode of the Bravo reality series, explaining that she felt that she didn't have an 'identity' in the funeral process.

AceShowbiz - Bethenny Frankel was seen getting emotional as she addressed the death of her ex Dennis Shields in the recent episode of "The Real Housewives of New York City" season 11. The April 3 episode of the Bravo reality show featured Bethenny talking about Dennis' funeral following his death of a suspected overdose in August 2018.
"It's different for me than for his ex-wife, who has to deal with the morgue and the bills and the kids and all of this other stuff," she explained to grief counselor Dr. Norman Fried during an emotional sit down in the episode.
"I had to figure out where my place was at the funeral," the 48-year-old went on saying. "I didn't want to intrude. I didn't feel like I had an identity in any of it."
However, it appears that not all people are feeling sympathetic for Bethenny. A longtime friend of Dennis reveals to Radar Online that the funeral talk was distasteful. "It made me want to throw up," the friend, who asked to remain anonymous, said. The pal went on adding that the show's recent coverage of Dennis' death is "pretty disgusting."
Dennis was found dead in his Trump Tower apartment on August 10, 2018. A New York Police Department spokesperson confirmed a 51-year-old man was pronounced dead on the scene at Shields' Trump Tower address. "Preliminarily, we are investigating it as a possible overdose," explained the spokesperson.
"The medical examiner's office is investigating the death of a man believed to be Dennis Shields, found at the Trump Tower. The investigation is ongoing, and we will release cause and manner of death when completed," the medical examiner’s spokeswoman Aja Worthy-Davis revealed at the time.
Bethenny and Dennis started dating in 2016, three years after the former filed for divorce from ex-husband Jason Hoppy. The Skinnygirl founder is currently dating real estate developer and film producer Paul Bernon. The two made their relationship Instagram-official in December when she posted two photos of the couple celebrating Christmas together in the Dominican Republic.
