AceShowbiz - Cynthia Bailey's friendship with NeNe Leakes has apparently fallen through after "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" season 11 finale suggested that she plotted the drama between NeNe and Kenya Moore at her party. Despite initially claiming that she didn't know about Kenya's arrival, the episode revealed otherwise. However, Cynthia seemed to be doing some damage control through a video which she posted on co-star Kandi Burruss' YouTube channel.
The 52-year-old model denied trying to set up NeNe by inviting her nemesis and former "RHOA" cast member to the Seagram's Escapes' party. While she insisted that she didn't know Kenya was coming, she was caught whispering to her fiance, "I'm supposed to act like I didn't know Kenya was coming."
Additionally, she was seen talking to Kandi off-camera. Apparently trying to cover things up, she told Kandi, "I just want to make sure we was on the same page, setting up how Kenya got here." Little did she know, Kandi was mic'd so the whole conversation was recorded.
However, the two stars attempted to set the records straight in the newly-released video. Cynthia revealed that while she did invited Kenya to her party, Kenya initially declined because she wouldn't be paid for her appearance. However, Kandi went behind Cynthia's back and convinced Kenya to come.
"We've all been invested in her finding love and her eventually having her baby that she always wanted," said Kandi. "It did not work out for her to be on the season. I just felt like we were kind of cheating the fans for them not being able to at least being able to see her pregnant."
"At the end of the day, I knew that she possibly might be coming but I did not share that with Cynthia," she continued. "I was the one who got Kenya to come. I was the one who talked her into it. But I did not get a confirmed answer until I pulled up at the party."
As for the hot mic moments, the two claimed that it came after the party. According to video, Cyntia tried to make sure that Kandi was going to own up to the responsibility that she brought Kenya to the party. "If I was going to say something that I knew was going to be recorded, that’s when I would have hung up my phone and texting Kandi," she said. "If I knew she was coming I would say, I knew she was coming."
