In a new magazine interview, the songstress confesses that the girl band's music 'wasn't necessarily a representation of my personal taste in music or my expression in music.'

AceShowbiz - Singer Lauren Jauregui has stunned Fifth Harmony fans by suggesting she wouldn't have listened to the girl group's music if she wasn't a member of the band.
The pop star and her bandmates announced plans for an indefinite hiatus a year ago, and Jauregui has since tasted solo success with her debut single "Expectations", which was released in October.
And now the 22-year-old tells Euphoria Magazine she was glad to break away from the band, because she wasn't a fan of the music.
"I'm leaning more towards live instrumentation and my vocals are very raw so I'm really focusing on my lyricism. That's where I feel like my strong suit is," she says. "I'm pretty vocal about the fact that that (Fifth Harmony music) wasn't necessarily a representation of my personal taste in music or my expression in music. I think I speak for a lot of us when I say that...".
Lauren previously told Ladygunn magazine she experienced some fears about embarking on a solo career shortly after her old group, originally made up of Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane Hansen, Camila Cabello, and Ally Brooke, disbanded.
"The main lesson I learned (while finding the confidence to write my own songs) was that I was the one holding myself back,” she told the publication. "There was no one actually stopping me but me. It was my fear of failure and rejection that was stopping me because I love music and art that much."
Lauren added that while she’s inspired by many "incredible artists", she would often compare herself to them, before she realised, she too could be incredible if she worked hard and never gave up.
"It was about realising that and telling myself over and over again, even when I didn't believe it, 'You can do this. This is what you do. You know you can write... You can't wait for someone else’s approval or for someone else to tell you that you can do something just to be like, 'Oh s**t, I’m actually good at this'."
