Upon learning about Stephen Fitzpatrick and Audun Laading's fatal crash in the U.S., IDLES also turns to Twitter to admit that they are 'absolutely gutted and heartbroken' to hear the sad news.

AceShowbiz - Sam Fender and Martin Kemp have paid tribute British indie duo Her's, who died in a car crash in Arizona on Wednesday, March 27.

Bandmates Stephen Fitzpatrick, Audun Laading, and their tour manager Trevor Engelbrektson were killed in a traffic accident on their way to a gig in Santa Ana, California, according to a statement released by staff at their label, Heist or Hit Records.

Their deaths prompted an outpouring grief from their fellow British artists - many of whom paid tribute to them on Twitter.

"Absolutely devastated to hear the news about @ThatBandOfHers," Sam wrote. "Fell in love with their debut album when a good friend back home put them on. I'm truly heartbroken for their friends and family. R.I.P you two beautiful boys."

Spandau Ballet rocker Martin tweeted: "My heart goes out to 'Her's' this morning! I'm so upset by this news.. So unfair!!! and to everyone close to the guys... RIP."

The group from Liverpool, England, released their debut album, "Invitation to Her's", to strong reviews last year (18), and they had won friends among their contemporaries.

Brit Award nominees IDLES also paid tribute by tweeting: "Absolutely gutted and heartbroken to hear the news about Her's. Our thoughts go out to their family and loved ones at this time. They were truly wonderful people that always bought a smile to our faces whenever we ran into them. Shocked is an understatement."

Former Catatonia frontwoman turned BBC Radio DJ Cerys Matthews wrote that the band were "full of potential" and that she had booked them for her "The Good Life Experience" festival in September.

Local reports suggested four people were killed in the accident, caused by a vehicle travelling the wrong way on Arizona's Interstate 10 colliding with a van carrying three people.
