AceShowbiz - Rita Wilson wanted her husband Tom Hanks to throw a party in her honour if she died from breast cancer.
The singer/actress, who married the Hollywood star in 1988, announced in April 2015 that she had been diagnosed with the disease and had undergone a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery.
While Rita has been cancer-free ever since, in a recent Instagram post, she recalled exactly what went through her mind when she was first diagnosed.
"Four years ago when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I had so many different thoughts," the 62-year-old wrote, with the post also featuring a picture of herself and Tom. "You're scared, anxious, you think about your own mortality. So I had a serious discussion with my husband that if anything happens, I wanted him to be super sad for a very long time (smiley face emoji) and I'd also like a party, a celebration."
Rita also noted that the chat she had with Tom was the inspiration behind her new song "Throw Me a Party", which she co-wrote with Liz Rose and Kristian Bush.
The tune is featured on her upcoming fourth studio album "Halfway to Home", which will be released on Friday, March 29.
