Words are the talent agent's jealousy and 'controlling' behavior led to the end of their engagement after two years together.

AceShowbiz - Lady GaGa almost had it all - love, career, fame and money - before she ended things with Christian Carino earlier this year. The pop star-turned-actress called off her engagement to her then-fiance amid her buzzed-about performance in "A Star Is Born", which received various award nominations.

Now sources spill the reasons why the former couple's relationship didn't work. "Chris didn't treat GaGa very well toward the end of their [two-year] relationship," one source tells Us Weekly, adding that the 33-year-old singer "really leaned on" pal Jeremy Renner "in the weeks after it ended."

A second source shares more details, claiming that Carino's jealousy and "controlling" behavior led to the end of their engagement. "He was jealous," the so-called insider says. "He was trying to find her all the time and texted her a lot. He was controlling, and her friends didn't like him either." The source reveals that "GaGa was the one who broke things off" with the 49-year-old talent agent.

GaGa confirmed her split from her boyfriend of two years in February. She later sparked dating rumors with Renner as they were reported "hanging out" together a lot after the end of her engagement to Carino. Sources, however, insisted that there's nothing romantic going on between the two stars.

Following her split, the "Bad Romance" hitmaker focused her attention to her career. "GaGa has been in such a focus on her career right now and has not even had time to address what has been happening between her and Christian, emotionally," a source told Us Weekly in February. "She has been telling those around her, 'Let's stay focused.' "

GaGa was previously engaged to longtime boyfriend Taylor Kinney, but they split for good at the end of 2016. She said in her 2017's Netflix documentary "Gaga: Five Foot Two" that her personal life suffered from a major loss every time she experienced a success in her career. "It's a sad day when I'm doing the Super Bowl and I'm so excited to do it, but I can't help but realize that when I sold 10 million records, I lost Matt [Williams]. I sold 30 million, I lose Luc [Carl]. I get the movie ['A Star Is Born'], I lose Taylor [Kinney]," said the Oscar-nominated actress.
