Red and Leonard are seen in the trailer forming a team that consists of Chuck, Bomb, Mighty Eagle and Silver among others to tackle a new enemy called Zeta.

AceShowbiz - The new trailer for "The Angry Birds Movie 2" gives more details about the plot of the upcoming installment. Making its way out on Wednesday, March 27, the almost-three-minute clip features the birds and pigs calling a truce to fight a new enemy that threatens the peace in their island.

Before delving into the truce, the clip gives viewers a quick recap of the first film as Red (Jason Sudeikis) reminds the audience that he's "the guy everybody hated who kind of saved the whole island." He also shares an update on the ongoing conflict he has with Leonard (Bill Hader) and the pigs as well as what his friends have been doing since the first movie.

While revealing that he is still dealing with his anger issues, Red is seen in a later scene lying flat on the floor of his home before Leonard comes to his house to ask for a truce. The red bird initially refuses the idea, but when the green pig informs him that someone from a different island fires an ice ball at their island, the two decide to put their different aside in order to save their islands.

In order to tackle the enemy, Zeta (Leslie Jones), Red and Leonard form a team of birds and pigs. It consists of Chuck (Josh Gad), Bomb (Danny McBride), Mighty Eagle (Peter Dinklage), Silver (Rachel Bloom) and Ella (Dove Cameron). Obviously, their journey isn't smooth sailing as they face several obstacles along the way.

In the second movie adaption of Rovio Entertainment's "Angry Birds" video game series, King Mudbeard, ruler of the Bad Piggies, plots revenge against them after they devastated his homeland in a prior battle to reclaim their eggs. Meanwhile, a mysterious purple bird, Zeta, tired of her life on a remote, polar island, threatens them all with her own plans for conquest. The bids and pigs will forge an unsteady truce and form an unlikely superteam to save their homes.

Thurop Van Orman served behind the lens, while Peter Ackerman wrote the script. "The Angry Birds Movie 2" is set to hit theaters on August 16.
