AceShowbiz - Veteran singer P.J. Proby has admitted to dating and lusting after underage girls.

The Texas-born star, 80, who had a string of U.K. hits in the 1960s with songs like "Hold Me", "Together", and "Somewhere", made the disturbing admission in an interview with Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper.

Proby was supposed to be promoting his farewell U.K. tour, but instead told the newspaper he's been single for two decades as he only likes dating teenage girls, and that his last 'relationship' began when his then girlfriend was 13.

"The last lady in my life was Elizabeth Conway in 1997," the shamed singer said. "She was 13 when I met her. I don't think there'll be another because it's against the law."

Explaining his shocking behaviour, the depraved crooner added: "I won't marry a girl I can't raise from the age of 12, 13 or 14. I like that they're young and fresh-looking and don't come with baggage - nobody's messed with their heart and broken it."

"They're still in school so I can have a hand in their education and make sure their grades are all right, make sure the way they think about religion is all right, and what is and isn't proper."

He went on to claim that he married his first wife when she was 16, his second was 17 and his third 21, but that the unions only lasted three years at most, and that he's not looking for love anymore as any dating agency would find his desires "illegal".

The singer also confessed to being pals with the late Jimmy Savile, who was exposed as one of Britain's worst sexual predators after his death, and publicist Max Clifford, who was himself imprisoned for sex crimes before his death in 2017.

"That's a side of Jimmy Savile I never saw," Proby, who now lives in Worcestershire, England recalled. "I went up to his place in Leeds a lot. Max was an old friend. He (Max) once tried to get (my last girlfriend) to tell him she was underage. What he was trying to get me on, they did him for. I'd no idea he was into young girls."
