Stopping by a radio show, the 'Fine China' rapper says of the controversial brand, 'I don't feel like they did it out of ill intentions.'

AceShowbiz - Many black rappers are boycotting Gucci over its recent blackface controversy, but Future is not one of them. Instead, the Atlanta rapper has shown his support for the fashion brand and declared that he would still be wearing the company's item because he has spent too much hard-earned money on Gucci.

Speaking with the Streetz 94.5 team in his hometown, Future said, "I bought Gucci before it got canceled so I'm still gonna wear it because that's my money. If you wanna give my money back then we can talk, because I'm a businessman. So, you can buy my clothes back if you want me to not wear it, but you can't tell me. Because I don't feel like they did it out of ill intentions, but it ain't for me to judge, you know what I'm saying?"

From his point of view, he thought that the problem would be solved by engaging in "real conversation" with the designer. "Y'all haven't had no conversation with the designer," he said. "Y'all don't know nothing about the background of the designer. The designer's momma could be black, the designer's daddy could be black, the designer could be black."

The "Fine China" rapper continued, "Like, they don't even understand. They're just going off what somebody says in a comment. I can't go off a comment. I just don't know how to do that. That would be ignorant of me."

Gucci caused controversy when it was found out that they sold sweaters resembling blackface, prompting the company to apologize and discontinue selling the sweaters due to backlash. However, many people still decided to boycott the brand despite its apology. Among them were hip-hop stars 50 Cent, Soulja Boy and T.I., who recently berated a man for wearing a Gucci outfit.

"Stand up for yourself, brother. It's what's in you, not what's on you," he said to the man. "That s**t ain't s**t until we put it on. We make that s**t fly. Look at me, n****r. I'm fly as a motherf***er and I ain't got that s**t on. I look better than you, as a matter of fact."
