AceShowbiz - Rapper Meek Mill has been saluted with his own day in Atlanta, Georgia after picking up similar honours in Texas, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut.

The "Dreams and Nightmares" hitmaker, real name Robert Rihmeek Williams, was presented with an official proclamation by City Council President Felicia A. Moore and Councilman Cleta Winslow on Monday, March 25 - "Meek Mill Day".

He was also celebrated for his criminal justice reform advocacy as he was handed the city's highest accolade, the Phoenix Award, which is given to "individuals who have made significant contributions to the local community, and are celebrating a major milestone".

Meek shared a photo of the proclamation on Instagram, alongside a string of trophy emojis, and was praised by fellow hip-hop star T.I., who celebrated the news with his own post on social media.

"S**t Like This is why I'm proud I'm from Atlanta!!!" he captioned a news article about Meek's honours. "Congratulations lil bro (sic) You deserve it!!! @meekmill".

Meek was also given his own holiday in Houston, Texas in February, in his native Pennsylvania earlier this month, and in Connecticut last week (March 19), when he was also presented with the key to the state, all in recognition of his activism to overhaul the criminal justice system.
