Posting a photo of her in a bikini top and chequered trousers, the 'Inglourious Basterds' actress admits she didn't think she could get her abs back after giving birth to first child with Norman Reedus.

AceShowbiz - Diane Kruger has left millions of women worldwide green with envy after showing off her washboard abs just four months after giving birth to her first child.

The "Inglourious Basterds" star welcomed a daughter into the world in November (2018), after finding love with "The Walking Dead" actor Norman Reedus.

The couple is notoriously private, but Diane, 42, decided to treat her Instagram followers to a rare insight into her personal life as she shared a snap of herself on the social media site on Saturday, March 16.

Alongside the picture, which showed her wearing a red bikini top and black chequered trousers as she knelt in front of a mirror, Diane wrote: "Am I showing off? F**k yeah. 'cause it's been hard work to get my abs back. I didn't think it was possible after having a baby. And certainly not at my age. I want to thank @hannahbower2 for sharing her journey and helping me get motivated. I don't have a trainer, but I've been committed to getting my body back. For myself first....but also for my (ghost emoji). The female body is AMAZING."

Referring to her unusual workout get-up, Diane added the hashtag: "#andyesIminabikiniworkingoutcauseitshothereandwhynot."

Speaking previously about her fitness regime in an interview with Coveteur.com, Diane explained that she's all about being "strong" rather than skinny. And when it comes to her go to routines, the German-American screen star prefers doing stretching exercises, such as Pilates and barre, rather than high-intensity cardio.

"I want to be strong, it's bizarre. I come from ballet, so I used to work out pretty much every day until I was 15," she said. "About two or three years ago I had to gain weight for a movie, and it wouldn't come off - I've been the same weight my entire life, and it wouldn't come off, so I started going to the gym. I guess it's coming from ballet, I have a very competitive thing in me, and I got really into it and I love it. Now I go four or five times a week - I do Pilates, I do Xtend Barre. I just love it, and it makes me feel strong, and I feel confident."
