AceShowbiz - Even a brutal attack doesn't stop YBN Almighty Jay from releasing a new music. The rapper, who made headlines after being assaulted and robbed in New York City over the weekend, has just made a swift comeback with a music video for "Let Me Breathe".
On the song, the 19-year-old can be heard talking about the violent altercation which left him with roughly 300 stitches in his face. Additionally, the song finds him spitting bars about the way he's been talked about on the news and social media.
With a scarred face, the Houston native raps, "I guess it's time to wake 'em up, 'cause they been sleep on me/ They say negative shit every time they speak on me/ My momma scared to look me up, 'cause what she see on me/ My face carved good, so I don't need to keep I.D. on me."
The rapper, who is seen sitting in a white shirt and a stripped vest and pants in one scene, continues alluding that he may be over his dream of being a hip-hop musician. "I don't want the fame no more/ They don't act the same no more," he rhymes.
"Just let me breathe (let me breathe), what would you do if you was me?/ Don't know what I go through just to get to where I wanna be (yuh)," Almighty Jay raps, before addressing the robbery he faced, "You don't got n****s plottin' on you, trynna rob you at the beach (you don't)/ I can't even wear my jewelry if I wanna cross the street."
The music video concludes with a clip of "The Wendy Williams Show" in which the host talked about him getting robbed and assault. A photo of the young star in the hospital is also featured on the screen behind her.
On March 9, the former boyfriend of Blac Chyna was shopping with his pals when another up-and-coming young rapper, named Lil Tjay, walked in with his squad. They reportedly got involved in an argument, before things turned physical.
A video which circulated online caught Almighty Jay in the fight after it spilled out into the street. Someone spotted him and said, "That's YBN Almighty Jay." The 19-year-old rapper and his gang appeared to be holding their own, until Almighty Jay got separated from his group.
He allegedly lost all his jewelry, his money and his shoes in the beat down. According to MTO News, someone pulled a razor and sliced the rapper's face during the attack. He suffered a deep cut in his face which required more than 300 stitches to close the wound. A source said they used a special plastic surgeon that is familiar with black skin to make sure that it will leave no scar.
Lil Tjay, meanwhile, denied that he was involved in Almighty Jay getting jumped on after the street scuffle. He sent a message to his fellow rapper on Instagram, saying, "Keep ya head up bro stay strong."
