The trailer also glimpses the eccentric assassin's whereabout following the season 1 finale which ends on cliffhanger.

AceShowbiz - Ahead of its season 2 premiere, "Killing Eve" has released a brand new trailer for viewing pleasure. The new footage teases that Eve Polastri (Sandra Oh) is going further into her obsession with physchopath Villanelle a.k.a. Oksana Astankova (Jodie Comer).

The 1-minute video opens with Villanelle saying in a voiceover, "Sometimes when you love someone, you will do crazy things." Later, Fiona Shaw's Carolyn Martens, head of the Russia Section at MI6, asking Eve, "Why are you with Villanelle so interested in each other?"

Carolyn can also be seen tasking to find Villanelle, that if she's alive. She is alive and well, though. The trailer also glimpses the eccentric assassin's whereabout after being stabbed by Eve in season 1 finale.

Somewhere in the trailer, Villanelle is seen surprising a target in the elevator while dressed in a tie and hitman suit as another scene features her rejecting a social media influencer who wants to post a picture of her on Instagram. "No," Villanelle snaps. "No, of course not. Get a real life."

However, toward the end of the teaser, it seems like Villanelle is not necessarilly living her life well. She is being dragged out into the woods by two men, while later she looks like she's been on the run.

Meanwhile, Eve is having her own problem as her life has been turned upside down. It appears that the trauma of their last encounter and her obsessive search to track down Villanelle is taking a toll on her. "It feels like I might be losing my mind, a little bit," she confesses.

The sophomore season arrives after Oh collected throphies at the 2019 Golden Globe Awards and the 2019 Screen Actors Guild Awards for best actress in a drama series, thanks to her performance on "Killing Eve". Also for her role on the BBC series, the "Grey's Anatomy" alum earned nominations at the Primetime Emmy Award and Television Critics Association Award among others.

Also starring Darren Boyd, Owen McDonnell, and Kirby Howell-Baptiste, "Killing Eve" follows Eve Polastri, a desk-bound MI5 officer. She begins to track down talented psychopathic assassin Villanelle as both women become obsessed with each other.

Season 2 of "Killing Eve" is set to premiere on April 7 on BBC.
