'I realized I am a walking addict. You can't just clean it up and stop it,' the daytime TV star opens up.

AceShowbiz - Wendy Williams got candid in the Tuesday, March 5 episode of her talk show. "The Wendy Williams Show" host, who made her TV return just yesterday, opened up about her drug addiction, calling herself a "walking addict."

In addition to explaining the reasons behind her extended break, Wendy told the viewers about her "lifelong battle" as she was a substance abuse user. "You know this about me. I told you I've had my about with substance abuse. Once you're a substance abuse user, you have to battle that for the rest of your life," she said.

"Crack is wack. I was a mess, killing myself. I realized I am a walking addict. You can't just clean it up and stop it. I wasted a lot of my life burning my insides," she went on saying. "You never know when it can pop up. I constantly have to watch the inside of my body because of hard partying, just a mess."

The 54-year-old then said that she was only "supposed to be off two weeks for Christmas vacation." However, "towards the end of the two weeks, I started to feel thyroid issues," she went on explaining.

"Well, they're still adjusting my meds. If you don't know about thyroid disease, it's a lifetime thing. It can really screw you over," she added.

Wendy greeted back the viewers of her daytime show on Monday following two-month hiatus as she was focusing on her health. During the episode, the TV star assured the audience that she's "doing better now."

Wendy also addressed marital issue rumors surrounding her and husband Kevin as it is said that Kevin is cheating on her and physically abusing her. Shutting down all the rumors, the candid star said, "I want to shout to my husband. I'm still wearing my ring."

"Believe me you, when you've been with somebody for 28 years...married for 25 years...we know each other," she added. "He's my best friend, he's my lover, he's all this and he's all that. I know what you've been seeing and I know what the streets have been talking about."

Her responses received mixed reactions from fans though as some felt that she was being "hypocrite" for not spilling the tea. "Thank God she's well & healthier but her audience deserved the truth. If she didn't spill tea for a living I would respect her privacy. But she's being hypocritical and I can't respect that. Your loyal fans deserved more. She lost another viewer in me. #WendyWilliams," one comment read. "Come on @WendyWilliams we would have respected you more if you would have spilled your OWN TEA like you do everyone else's this is DRY we're past Jussie #WendyWilliams," another fan added.
