AceShowbiz - Lady GaGa channels a showgirl to cover the March/April edition of V Magazine. The magazine has unveiled a dramatic shot of the singer/actress taken by renowned photographer Jean-Paul Goude.
In the cover shot, the 32-year-old star wears an elaborate headpiece by Shaun Leane for Alexander McQueen, a sexy a black Armani Prive dress with a deep V-line and a pink-feathered robe, completed with some exotic necklaces. She poses with neon sticks, giving a dramatic effect.
In another image, GaGa sports a big blonde wig and a metallic silver, strapless Atelier Versace gown teamed with towering platform heels. She holds up a neon stick like holding a bayonet in a war, giving off a warrior vibe. The picture also gives a behind-the-scenes look as some crew members working hard to fix her feathered headpiece.
"She's an Enigma!" the magazine dubs GaGa. Calling the "American Horror Story: Hotel" actress " the ultimate shape-shifter ," the magazine reveals that this collaboration with GaGa and Goude was long awaited. The cover shoot marks GaGa's 25th cover with V Magazine that is taken 10 years since her first cover shoot for the publication.
"We tried to turn GaGa into a living doll, a living icon, like the figurines that people collect and put on their mantelpiece, but life size," Goude tells the magazine about the theme of the photo shoot. The photos were taken in Paris.
GaGa has been known for her changing persona and outrageous fashion since launching her music career. Summarizing her artistic journey, the magazine says of the "Born This Way" hitmaker, "For ten years, GaGa's artistry has been an adaptive, widely applicable remedy, from critically acclaimed acting on the big screen, to her Enigma residency in Vegas, which would inspire the cosmic, futuristic couture queen seen now on our cover. Not bad for someone who, in her very first V interview professed a simple dream 'of wanting to make something of [myself].' "
The cover shoot comes on the heels of GaGa's first Oscar win for Best Original Song for "Shallow", which she co-wrote for "A Star Is Born". She also stars in the drama musical film, earning an Oscar nomination for best actress for her portrayal of Ally.
