No official confirmation has been released on news of the frontman's passing just yet, but music video director Tim Pope as well as The The's Matt Johnson have paid their respects on social media.

AceShowbiz - Social media tributes for Talk Talk frontman Mark Hollis are pouring in following reports of his death.

The singer has passed away, aged 64, according to multiple online outlets.

While no official confirmation has been released, many of the star's colleagues and friends have started paying their respects to the "It's My Life" hitmaker, who retired from music after releasing a solo album in 1998.

Tim Pope, who directed Talk Talk's music videos, was among the first to remember Hollis on Twitter, writing: "Goodbye to Mark Hollis of Talk Talk. Condolences to his lovely family. We had many, many laughs together."

There were also tributes from The The's Matt Johnson, who wrote: "Very sorry to hear the news that #MarkHollis of #TalkTalk has died. He was behind some of the finest albums of the 1980s/early 1990s. R.I.P."
