AceShowbiz - Lady GaGa is seeking peace and solitude amid tabloids' headlines blaring her failed romance with Christian Carino. The Mother Monster is said to be escaping to Mexico after news broke that she called off her engagement to the CAA agent.
An eyewitness saw the 32-year-old singer/actress at farmland resort Acre on the Baja peninsula in Mexico on Monday, February 18. The source tells Page Six, "She was with three friends. She had a slick low ponytail, wearing a black outfit and a large diamond necklace."
A representative for GaGa confirmed the couple's breakup on Tuesday, after the "A Star Is Born" actress ditched her engagement ring and attended the 2019 Grammy Awards solo on Sunday, February 10. They previously hit the red carpet of Golden Globe Awards and SAG Awards together earlier this year.
GaGa and Carino first sparked dating rumors in January 2017, seven months after she called it quits with longtime boyfriend and fiance of one year, Taylor Kinney. The "American Horror Story: Hotel" star and the 50-year-old talent agent got engaged in October of the same year.
Of why the couple called it quits, a source tells HollywoodLife.com, "GaGa has been overwhelmed with emotion the last several months, and ultimately, she felt like she and Christian were no longer on the same page romantically. And that is why they decided to split."
It appears that the two still maintain a good relationship as the source claims, "She still loves him, but GaGa feels some of their spark faded." While the busy awards season is not to be blamed for the split, the source adds, "The Oscar race took a toll on GaGa's personal life and relationship with Christian, too."
