The user mistook the 'Bring It On' actress for the 'Boy Is Mine' singer in the comment section of a post made by Rihanna's Fenty Beauty that celebrated its 'heroes in beauty' as part of Black History Month.

AceShowbiz - Gabrielle Union has clapped back at an Instagram user who mistook her for singer Brandy.

Staff at Rihanna's brand Fenty Beauty shared a picture of the "Bring It On" actress on their Instagram account earlier this week, February 11, as they were celebrating their "heroes in beauty" as part of Black History Month.

In the comments underneath the post, one user wrote, "Brandy!!!! I love her," causing Fenty Beauty reps to respond with a series of exclamation and question mark emojis.

Gabrielle later jumped into the comments to school the user on the difference between herself and "The Boy Is Mine" singer.

"Girl I (heart emoji) @4everbrandy toooooooooo!" Gabrielle commented. "I, however, am Gabrielle Union Wade and I hope you are never a witness to any crime cuz your eye witness testimony is a problem."

Brandy, who is also known for playing Moesha in the TV show of the same name, did not respond to the confusion and the user later removed the post from Instagram.

The 46-year-old recently told People magazine that she has no problem hitting back at people who shame her on social media, especially since she became a mother to daughter Kaavia with husband Dwyane Wade via a surrogate in November (18).

"I had to hit the mummy shamers day one," she said. "I'm going to do it my way. I'm sure I'm going to make all kinds of mistakes and when I ask for help, which I will, I would love to hear all y'all's advice. Everybody has been on my journey of pain and anguish and trauma, and I owe it to myself to enjoy every second of my joy."

The comments come just days after it was announced Gabrielle was becoming a judge on reality show "America's Got Talent". The actress and fellow newcomer Julianne Hough are set to replace Mel B (Melanie Brown) and Heidi Klum on the panel alongside Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel.
