During an appearance on 'Today' show, the 'Murder on the Orient Express' actor gets quizzed if he has been approached to take over the role of the 007 agent from Daniel Craig.

AceShowbiz - English actor Tom Bateman would jump at the chance to play James Bond.

The "Murder on the Orient Express" star has not been approached about taking on the role of 007 when current Bond Daniel Craig steps down, but he insists producers would only need to ask once if they thought he'd look good as the superspy.

"I don't think there's an actor alive that would say no to that," he told U.S. breakfast show "Today". "They're one the greatest movie (franchises), everybody loves them around the world."

"It would be big old shoes to fill. It would be terrifying."

Bateman joins a long list of Bond hopefuls, including "Mamma Mia!" star Dominic Cooper and "Outlander" actor Sam Heughan, who recently revealed he auditioned for the role of a young 007 when Craig was being considered.

Meanwhile, reluctant fan favourites for the part include Idris Elba, Tom Hardy and Tom Hiddleston.
