Andy Cohen Pays Tribute to His Grandfather With First Child's Meaningful Name

Following the birth of Benjamin Allen, the TV personality can't help but gush over him on social media as fellow celebrities flood him with congratulatory messages.

AceShowbiz - Congratulations are in other for Andy Cohen. The "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen" host is officially a father now after welcoming his first child on Monday, February 4.

His baby boy was born via surrogate at 6:35 P.M. and weighed 9 lbs., 2 ounces. Meanwhile, the newborn measured 20 inches long.

The newborn baby was named Benjamin Allen, a name that held special meaning for the Bravo excecutive. Through the name, Andy paid tribute to Ben Allen, his grandfather on his mother's side.

Following the birth of Benjamin, Andy couldn't help but gush over him on social media. The TV personality took to his Instagram account to share a black-and-white snap of him and his baby. "I'm in love," he wrote in the caption. "And speechless. And eternally grateful to an incredible surrogate. And I'm a dad. Wow."

The comment section was flooded with congratulatory messages from fans as well as fellow celebrities. Mariah Carey expressed her happiness for him, writing, "Congratulations and Mazel Tov, Andy!! Can't wait to meet Benjamin, he's very lucky to have you as a dad." The official account of Bravo also commented, "OUR BRAVO PRINCE HAS ARRIVED. WELCOME BENJAMIN ALLEN COHEN!"

Meanwhile, Taylor Lautner made himself known that he would always up for babysitting duty. "Babysitter," the "Twilight" saga actor wrote alongside a boy raising hand emoji. Naomi Campbell was also among the well-wishers. "Congratulations @bavoandy you are going to be most amazing Daddy yo your bundle of Joy Benjamin !!!!" her comment read.

Andy announced that he was expecting his first bundle of joy back in December 2018 episode of "Watch What Happens Live". "Tonight, I want you to be the first to know that after many years of careful deliberation, a fair amount of prayers and the benefit of science -- if all goes according to plan, in about six weeks time I'm going to become a father," he shared. "Thanks to a wonderful surrogate who is carrying my future."

Last month, alongside "Real Housewives" stars and pal John Mayer, Andy had an extravagant baby shower in Beverly Hills. The fun-filled bash took place at The Palm Beverly Hills.
