Equally excited with fans over the third installment of 'Legally Blonde', the actor known for his role as lawyer Emmett Richmond tosses in divorce idea to give his character 'some financial issues.'

AceShowbiz - Luke Wilson is ready to reunite with Reese Witherspoon on "Legally Blonde 3 (2020)".

The 47-year-old doesn't know much about the project, but is onboard for reprising his role as lawyer Emmett Richmond from the much-loved 2001 romantic comedy "Legally Blonde", in which Reese played bubbly law student Elle Woods.

"Reese is so funny that I'd go back in a second and do it," he shared during a recent interview on SiriusXM's "The Michael Yo Show". "I'd definitely be up for it. All I've heard is the same thing everyone else has heard, it's that they might be doing a 'Legally Blonde 3'. But I can't imagine anything that would be more fun. Reese played such a great character. I'd love to do a 'Legally Blonde 3'."

While he confessed it was strange to have made "a semi-classic" back in the early 2000s with "Legally Blonde", he revealed that he now has women his age telling him that they've shown the movie to their daughters and that they "love it" too.

In "Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde", which was released in 2003, graduate Elle marries boyfriend Emmett after she heads to Washington, D.C. to pass a bill to ban animal testing.

And Luke joked that they could make the third movie "real", and said that the couple should divorce to give his character "some financial issues."

Reese confirmed last June that she was ready to step back into Elle's designer shoes for "Legally Blonde 3", which is set to be released in February 2020.

"Oh, it's gonna be so fun!" the Oscar-winning actress gushed to Entertainment Tonight. "I got to go to a meeting the other day where we talked about all the new plot points and all the characters and some returning characters and some new characters. I mean, I got so excited just in the meeting. I was like, 'This is gonna be good'."
