Despite not featuring the stars of the hit fantasy series, the commercial offers throwbacks at several epic scenes throughout the seven seasons of 'Game of Thrones'.

AceShowbiz - Budweiser is joining forces with HBO's "Game of Thrones" in a new ad during Super Bowl LIII which kicked off on Sunday, February 3. The spot first started with a Bud Light knight entering the field as he's about to take part in a joust.

Clad in blue armor with "Bud Light" written on it, the knight receives a huge cheer from the spectators as one of them shouting, "Dilly Dilly!" With a matching blue lance, the knight enters the field with so much dignity only to get knocked down in a few seconds later.

His opponent approaches him, who is now on the ground. It appears that he's going against The Mountain. The later is about to gouge out his eyeballs with his thumb, reenacting Oberyn Martell's brutal death in season 4 of the HBO hit drama. Before that happens, a dragon appears and breathes fire to everything beneath.

Fans of the medieval drama may easily recognize that it is a reference to "The Dance of Dragons", the ninth and penultimate episode of the fifth episode of "Game of Thrones". In the episode, the Sons of the Harpy attacked the stadium of Daznak's Pit in an attempt to assassinate Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) who was later rescued by Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen). Later, Drogon appeared, setting ablaze and killing many Sons of the Harpy.

Fans are raving about the new commercial as one Twitter user calls it the "best commercial to date." However, some others are less than impressed by the ad. "real s8 trailer," one fan demands.

"That Bud Light ad turning into a Game of Thrones ad means that all of the latter's Emmy Awards have been stripped, by ruling of the Television Critics Association," another critic tweets. Another echoes, "combining a game of thrones trailer with a bud light commercial is the eighth deadly sin but they did it anyway smh."

The eighth and final season of "Game of Thrones" will premiere on April 14 on HBO.
