Through a video she uploads on YouTube, the New Zealand singer who recently became viral for etching the One Direction singer on her cheek reveals what inspired her to come out with the idea.

AceShowbiz - Kelsy Karter has revealed her cheek tattoo of Harry Styles was fake, and part of a stunt to promote her new song.

The New Zealand singer became a viral sensation after sharing an image of what appeared to be an etching of the former One Direction singer on her face. However, Kelsy has now told fans that it wasn't real, and shared the story behind the 'tattoo' in a video entitled "How I rocked the entire world for $300."

"To pull this off, we needed a celebrity tattoo artist to make it look real... He traced Harry's 2017 Rolling Stone cover, applied it to my face, and then a special FX makeup artist did her thing," she said in the interview, before adding, "BTW. We know it looked ridiculous. That was the point."

At the end of the video, Kelsy admitted the tattoo stunt was just a bid to promote her new tune entitled "Harry", which she wrote six months ago about the heartthrob.

"The tattoo was not real," she concluded. "I love that Harry has introduced rock to a new generations of fans. Plus he's nice to look at... This has always been about Rock & Roll. Harry is an anthem for the fans. The tattoo is gone. All that's left is the music. Which is what my rockstar team and I had planned all along."
