AceShowbiz - Kourtney Kardashian intentionally spiced up tabloid headlines with rumors of her alleged new romance. The reality TV star sparked dating speculation after she was spotted going on a dinner date with David Duron, but it was actually a prank on paparazzi.
Shutting down the dating rumors, the mother of three took to Instagram Stories to share a video that featured Giuliana Rancic and Jason Kennedy on E! News. Apparently, it was Jason's idea that Kourtney and David leave together to attract photographers' attention.
"Last week we go out with Kourtney and some friends," Jason said. "And I jokingly said to my buddy, David, 'hey, walk Kourtney to her car. We'll see if the paparazzi or anybody bites.' " That explained Kourtney's giggle as they were snapped walking to the car.
Further slamming the reports, the 39-year-old socialite added, "And [they] cropped the other 7 people out of the photos, of course."
Kourtney and David, who is 12 years her junior, were spotted having dinner at Nobu in Malibu on Thursday, January 24. They reportedly connect through their faith, as David goes to Vous church, which is affiliated with Hillsong, the church Kourtney regularly attends to in Los Angeles.
After their photos together surfaced online, sources told PEOPLE that it's nothing romantic between them. One of the sources said, "It's just friendship now. They met through the church and they have a lot of mutual friends. But for now, it's just a friendly relationship."
The source, however, didn't rule out a potential love relationship in the future as he/she explained, "He's a lot younger than her, so there's an age difference. He's about 12 years younger than her. But he's very mature. He's a serious Christian and so is she, and there's definitely some chemistry there."
"They could turn into something in the future, but it hasn't happened yet," the source additionally noted. "They're just talking and spending a little bit of time together. This isn't a big romance, but I'd say there's some mutual interest there. There's potential. So who knows?"
