When the topic of him wearing a babushka was brought up, the 'Wild for the Night' rapper recalls a scooter accident that left him having to go under the knife to fix his face.

AceShowbiz - Rapper A$AP Rocky turned a massive gash on his face into fashion inspiration by concealing the injury with a babushka.

The New York City native adopted the Russian headscarf on the red carpet for the The LACMA 2018 Art and Film Gala in November (2018) and style critics went wild for the look, but the naturally chic hip hop star insists the accessory was born out of necessity.

"It was inspired by a situation I had where my face got cut, and I started walking around with a babushka to cover it," he tells GQ magazine. "It was about last September (when I first started wearing them). It started with a yellow one when I was on Trevor Noah's show ("The Daily Show with Trevor Noah"). I actually did a Vogue (magazine) shoot the day after I got my face slashed."

"Honestly, it was inspired by ("Little Rascals" character) Alfalfa - you ever see the (TV show) 'Little Rascals', when he pretended to have a toothache? I kind of wanted to make it look like that. Basically on some s**t so in case Trevor Noah asked me, I was just gonna be like, 'I have a toothache'."

The handsome star's face was scraped up when he took a nasty tumble in a scooter accident.

"I was riding a Razor scooter, I did a pop up wheelie and just ate s**t and I just had a f**king big gash on my face," the Goldie hitmaker shared, revealing the injury was so bad he went under the knife to fix it."

"(I) had to get plastic surgery and here we are," Rocky adds.
