Claiming he has no recollection of filming in the buff for his new thriller movie, the 'Dallas Buyers Club' actor tells host Stephen Colbert he is pretty sure he wore a bodysuit in one particular scene.

AceShowbiz - Matthew McConaughey has no memory of going completely naked while shooting "Serenity (2019)".

The actor made an appearance on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" on Wednesday night, January 23, to promote the new thriller, which tells the story of a fishing boat captain who is approached by his ex-wife to murder her new husband.

During the chat, host Stephen Colbert brought up the scene in which Matthew appears to be "buck naked" - but the Oscar winner emphasised that he had no recollection of ever getting completely nude on the set of the film.

"I'm going to the premiere tonight and I've got to see if there's a new edit or new cut of this film that I haven't seen," he sighed. "I know I was topless, and I've had people coming up saying, 'Oh my God, it was great to see you full frontal,' and I'm like, 'What? Was it really?'"

Stephen then pulled up a still from "Serenity" showing Matthew appearing to jump from a cliff into the ocean while in the buff, and the star explained that he was actually wearing a bodysuit for the sequence.

"I'm pretty sure I've got a nude coloured thing on, that's holding bits from being dangling. You don't want to jump from that high into the water with things that are not (secure)!" the 49-year-old said.

Matthew then made a reference to the Longbranch Bourbon he makes in collaboration with alcohol company Wild Turkey, and the faux version Stephen once dreamed up called "Savage C**k".

Noticing that the audience members appeared very confused by their conversation, the presenter laughed and clarified: "Savage C**k is my bourbon, his is Longbranch."
