According to a source, the 'Daddy Issues' singer has 'secretly been recording in the studio and plans on dropping new music soon.'

AceShowbiz - Demi Lovato is allegedly counting down the days of her return to the music industry. Rumor has it, the 26-year-old former Disney darling has been secretly recording new music and is planning to release a new song really soon.

"Demi has secretly been recording in the studio and plans on dropping new music coon, and may even drop a single as soon as a few days before the Grammys," a source says of Demi to HollywoodLife.com. "Demi has a whole new outlook on life, on love, and on her career and she wants to express that through her music. She wants to bring a lot of positive changes moving forward in 2019 and is really excited to show fans what she's been working on."

Should the report be true, it will be her first song since getting out of rehab following her drug overdose last year. Her latest song that she released before the incident was "Sober", which she referred to as "my truth" and discusses struggles with addiction and sobriety. She also released a collaboration with Clean Bandit on "Solo" and Christina Aguilera on "Fall in Line", the latter of which receives nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 61st Grammy Awards.

Back in July 2018, Demi confirmed that she was working on her seventh studio album. "Recording my new album and I just hit a note so high I peed a little," the "Daddy Issues" singer wrote on Twitter at the time, before adding in another tweet, "Never been more proud of a song in my life."

The forthcoming effort will be a follow-up to her sixth studio album "Tell Me You Love Me" that was released on September 29, 2017. Receiving generally positive reviews from music critics, the record debuted and peaked at No. 3 on Billboard 200 in addition to being included on several best albums of the year list.
