AceShowbiz - "Full Metal Jacket" star R. Lee Ermey has been laid to rest with full military honours at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.

The former Marine-turned-actor passed away from complications of pneumonia at the age of 74 in April (2018) and his cremated remains were buried on Friday, January 18.

According to TMZ, Ermey's memorial service featured a firing party, a bugler and the folding and presentation of the American flag.

The late actor enlisted in the military when he was 17 years old and served in Okinawa and Vietnam. He famously starred as Gunnery Sgt. Hartman in Stanley Kubrick's 1987 movie, a role which earned him a Golden Globe nomination.
