AceShowbiz - "Riverdale" season 3 returned with a new episode on Wednesday, January 16. The episode hinted at the rise of new couple after fan-favorite couple ended their relationship in the previous episode.
In the episode, which was titled "Chapter Forty-Four: No Exit", Veronica (Camila Mendes) performed a seductive rendition of "Maybe This Time" by Cabaret. It was so mesmerizing that Reggie (Charles Melton) couldn't stop staring at her in full admiration. The spark between the two character grew stronger as they finally leaned in for a steamy kiss.
The kiss arrived after Archie (KJ Apa) called things off with Veronia via pay phone after he escaped from juvie. As for Archie himself, his fate remains uncertain after he was being attacked by a grizzly bear early in the episode.
While his ex seemingly found the new love of her life, Archie was struggling alone. By the end of the episode, he was found unresponsive and bloody in his cabin in the Canadian wilderness. That scene unsurprisingly sent fans into frenzy as he might be dead.
"Ya know I would actually be impressed if they for real killed off the main character, that would be ballsy, that would be a plot twist," one fan tweeted. "OMG!!! Archie Noooo!!!!" another said in total disbelief.

Voicing her disappointment, one other wrote, "listen if he died we're done and over and we're never watching again thanks."

Either way, the plot is quite interesting because Camila and Charles are dating in real life. Not to mention, a slew of fans have been shipping Veggie even before the hot kiss.
"Riverdale" season 3 airs on Wednesdays at 8 P.M. on The CW.
