AceShowbiz - Actresses Regina Hall and Amandla Stenberg are set to be feted at Essence magazine's annual Black Women in Hollywood Awards.

"The Hate U Give" co-stars will be joined by "If Beale Street Could Talk"'s Kiki Layne, and veteran entertainer Jenifer Lewis as this year's honourees, who each embody the event's 2019 theme, "The Power Of Our Presence: Art & Activism".

"We are proud to salute the marvelous work and stunning achievements of our 2019 Black Women in Hollywood awardees, who as a collective presence are challenging perceptions and impacting social change," MoAna Luu, Essence's Chief Creative and Content Officer, shares in a statement.

"Through their craft and their commitment to causes, Amandla, Kiki, Jenifer and Regina represent the dynamic intersection of art and activism that is influencing how we shape our own destiny."

The ladies will be celebrated at a luncheon in Beverly Hills, California on February 21.

They follow in the footsteps of 2018's honourees Tiffany Haddish, Tessa Thompson, Lena Waithe, and Danai Gurira.
