While it is still unclear what caused the passing of Jo Andres at 65, her actor husband has been spotted with the help of others lifting a casket out of his Brooklyn home on January 9.

AceShowbiz - Steve Buscemi's wife of over 30 years, Jo Andres, has died.

According to editors at E! News, the filmmaker, choreographer, and artist passed away earlier this week, ends January 13 in New York City. She was 65.

A cause of death has not been made public, and a representative for Buscemi has not yet commented on the news.

However, photographs obtained by Radar Online show Buscemi, 61, and several others lifting a wicker casket out of the family home in Brooklyn on Wednesday, January 09, with the mourners then heading to a burial service with a police escort.

Hollywood actor John Turturro, who featured alongside Buscemi in 1998's "The Big Lebowski", was one of the mourners who visited the "Boardwalk Empire" star's house to pay his respects.

Buscemi and Andres were last seen on the red carpet together in July (18) when they stepped out at The Cinema Society screening of Puzzle.

A celebrated filmmaker and artist in her own right, Andres rose to fame within the 1980s art world through her expressive performance art films, and made her directorial debut with 1996's "Black Kites".

Buscemi previously heaped praise on his wife's work, revealing his favourite piece of art was "probably something by my wife Jo Andres."

"She paints, she makes films, she has done performance," he told The Independent in 2009.

Buscemi and Andres wed in 1987 and share 29-year-old son Lucian Buscemi.
