The 'Black Panther' co-stars address rumors of them dating when they talk about the hilarious video they made with Danai Gurira at the Golden Globes Awards.

AceShowbiz - Michael B. Jordan and Lupita Nyong'o have dismissed rumours linking them as a couple.

Dating gossip has swirled around the "Black Panther" stars ever since they started working on the 2018 blockbuster superhero film, but both insist they are just friends.

"We're good friends, honestly, we've known each other a really long time and respect each other and I love this girl to death," Jordan tells Entertainment Tonight.

"It's flattering at the end of the day," Nyong'o adds. "I think it's such a rare thing to find people you have good chemistry with and for us to find each other as actors and get to work together; it makes the work richer that we truly enjoy each other's company on and off screen."

Michael and Lupita's comments come shortly after they poked fun at the romance rumours by locking lips in an elevator at the Golden Globes Awards. They also included their "Black Panther" co-star Danai Gurira in on the flirty fun, but reveal the prank didn't go as planned after the actresses fell over when the elevator closed.

"This is the thing, first of all, Danai, she commits to everything, so she really committed to that swoop and it took me by surprise," Nyong'o adds. "We were both in stilettos, so we ended up on the ground."

In 2017, Lupita opened up about the rumours surrounding her personal life, by insisting she would never address them.

"You can ask, but you definitely won't get an answer," she told U.S. Vogue when asked if she was in a relationship. "There have been rumours and rumours and rumours about my love life. That's the one area that I really like to hold close to my heart."
