One month prior to the sanctioning, Elsie Hewitt alleged that the former husband of Reese Witherspoon still refused to turn over his text with the 'Big Little Lies' actress about her abuse.

AceShowbiz - Ryan Phillippe has been sanctioned for a second time in his legal spat with a former girlfriend.

Model Elsie Hewitt filed a civil suit against the actor in 2017, claiming he threw her down a flight of stairs twice, while yelling, "Get the f**k out of my house...", when she tried to retrieve her items following their split.

In June (18), Hewitt filed a motion to compel, claiming Phillippe had refused to hand over documents and photos she had requested, in an attempt to locate any communication the 44-year-old had had with his Oscar-winning ex-wife Reese Witherspoon about the alleged abuse.

In October (18), the judge overseeing the case ordered Phillippe to turn over any texts with Witherspoon about Hewitt, and sanctioned him $1,580 (£1,240) for the delay. The following month, November 2018, Hewitt claimed that despite the "Cruel Intentions" star agreeing to produce all his texts, he insisted he never communicated with the "Big Little Lies" actress following the alleged assault, and had no texts in his possession.

According to The Blast, he was hit with $790 (£620) in sanctions again last month for his alleged non-compliance. He has also been ordered to hand over all communication he had with any third-party about the incident and turn in any relevant social media posts.

Hewitt previously claimed her ex was abusing steroids, cocaine, ecstasy, and psychedelic mushrooms, and demanded he make the text messages she allegedly sent him about his drinking and drug use available. The model is seeking more than $1 million (£783,200) in damages.

Phillippe has denied the allegations against him, accusing Hewitt of extortion.
