2019 Writers Guild Awards: 'Green Book' Up Against 'Roma' in Screenplay Nomination

While the two drama films are shortlisted for the original category, 'A Star Is Born' is vying for the adapted screenplay kudo against 'If Beale Street Could Talk' and 'BlackKklansman' among others.

AceShowbiz - Golden Globe triple winner "Green Book" and "Roma" have made the Writers Guild of America's shortlist for the Best Screenplay.

The writers behind "A Quiet Place", "Vice (2018)", and "Eighth Grade" are also up for the top prize, while the Adapted Screenplay battle will be between "BlackKklansman", "Black Panther", "If Beale Street Could Talk", "A Star Is Born", and "Can You Ever Forgive Me?".

"Bathtubs Over Broadway", "Fahrenheit 11/9", "Generation Wealth", and "In Search of Greatness" will battle it out for the WGA Documentary Screenplay prize, and "Assassin's Creed Odyssey", "Batman: The Enemy Within", "God of War", "Marvel's Spider-Man", and "Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire" will compete for the Videogame Writing honour.

The winners will be announced at dual ceremonies in Los Angeles and New York on February 17.
