The Tahani Al-Jamil of 'The Good Place' explains that she decided to sport the denim under her coral-coloured Monique Lhuillier ballgown because she doesn't believe suffering for fashion.

AceShowbiz - Jameela Jamil has been praised by fans for wearing jeans under her dress at the 2019 Golden Globes.

The British actress stepped out at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Sunday night, January 06, for the awards bash, where her TV show "The Good Place", in which she plays Tahani Al-Jamil, was nominated for Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy.

Jameela looked gorgeous in a coral-coloured Monique Lhuillier ballgown with matching earrings from Ricardo Basta Fine Jewelry, but shortly before she hit the red carpet, she took to Twitter to post a video of the denim she was sporting underneath.

"An experienced woman wears jeans under her Golden Globes gown because it's forking COLD," she captioned the clip, which showed her giving fans a glimpse of her blue skinny jeans.

While on her Instagram Stories she shared a similar video and added: "Wearing jeans under my gown because I refuse to be cold for fashion." She added in a chat with USA Today: "I don't believe in suffering for fashion. It's going to be cold later tonight and we're going to be out all night until the early hours. I would like to be comfortable."

Accordingly, a number of Jameela's online fans were impressed by her clever fashion trick.

"Just when I thought I couldn't love you any forking more," one user wrote, while another commented, "Jeans are so formal. I'd be doing cozy fleece with an elastic waistband!!

And a third added: "I've worn thermals under a tux before. No judgement here."

In addition to her ensemble, Jameela carried a black clutch purse with Time's Up ribbon attached as means of showing her support for the movement founded by Hollywood celebrities as means of fighting against sexual harassment.

"Celebrating @timesupnow effort to double the amount of women and minorities at the helm of Hollywood and the height of all women industries," the 32-year-old wrote alongside a snap of her purse on her Instagram Stories.
