The singer/actress previously sued Core Nutrition, claiming they cornerede her into promoting the bottled water brand on social media.

AceShowbiz - Bosses at a water company co-owned by Dr. Luke are seeking the dismissal of a lawsuit filed against them by singer/actress Becky G over allegations of a failed equity deal.

The "Power Rangers" star launched legal action against Core Nutrition executives in November (18), claiming she felt cornered into promoting the bottled water brand on social media and in her music videos for years amid fears that Luke, who owns a significant percentage of the firm, would "squash" her singing career and ditch her album release plans if she refused.

She eventually spoke up and alleges she was promised 50,000 shares in the firm, but accused Core Nutrition chiefs of reneging on the agreement as the business is poised to be sold to bosses at Keurig Dr Pepper for $525 million (£415 million).

Becky is demanding she be compensated for her work as a brand ambassador, which could net her at least $105 million (£82 million) if she is paid the minimum standard rate of 20 per cent, but now Core Nutrition officials are hitting back, insisting she isn't owed any money.

According to legal papers obtained by The Blast, they blame Becky for the broken promise, declaring her complaints are the result of her "own acts and omissions", claiming she failed to meet the conditions agreed in their supposed deal.

They are asking the judge overseeing the dispute, in which Dr. Luke is not personally named as a defendant, to throw her case out of court.

A ruling has yet to be made.

It's not the only high-profile lawsuit Dr. Luke's name is tied to - he is also locked in a bitter five-year battle with former protegee Ke$ha, who attempted to sue him for the reported sexual, physical, and emotional abuse she allegedly endured during the 10 years they worked together at the start of her career. She also tried to free herself from her recording contract with his label, Kemosabe Records, but her bid was denied in 2016.

Luke vehemently dismissed her misconduct accusations, and subsequently countersued Kesha, charging her with defamation.
