AceShowbiz - A brand new trailer of Netflix's British new series "Sex Education" has made its way out online for viewing pleasure. The 2 minute-and-17-second footage features Gillian Anderson and her on-screen son Asa Butterfield, who finds himself becoming a sex guru for his school friends.
The trailer for the new comedy opens with "The X-Files" alum's Dr. Jean Milburn confronting his awkward teenage son Otis after she caught him pretending to masturbate. Later, his crush Maeve (Emma Mackey) suggests him to set up a sexual therapy practice for his school mates.
"The students at the school need your help and we need their money. I'll deal with the business and things, and you could do the therapy," she says to Otis. While the idea baffles him, his friend thinks it's "awesome" and it could make them popular.
It can be seen later some of his friends coming to him with various problems regarding sex life. "I wish I could be a normal kid with a normal d**k," one sad young guy says.
"You can't choose who you're attracted to. You can't engineer a relationship. You are who you are. Don't let anyone take that away from you," Otis says towards the end of the trailer, which also hints at the exploration of LGBTQ+ community on the upcoming series.
Created by Laurie Nunn, "Sex Education" also stars James Purefoy, Ncuti Gatway, Connor Swindells and Kedar Williams-Stirling. The comedy is executive produced by Jamie Campbell and Ben Taylor.
"The show is a funny, heart-warming and utterly cringe-worthy look at teenage sex, love and identity. It's a contemporary British love-letter to the American high-school TV shows that so many of us grew up loving. It takes the familiar tropes of the genre and pushes them into new and current territory, telling a nostalgic coming of age tale from a different perspective," Nunn said of the show.
The eight-part series will premiere on January 11 on Netflix.
