The season premiere of the Lifetime show ends in cliffhanger as one of the couple appears to have met before.

AceShowbiz - Fans of "Married at First Sight" rang in the New Year with a new season of the show. Premiering on January 1, season 8 saw the Lifetime show making a history with 4 matched couples instead of the usual three.

In the season premiere, the eight strangers put their love life and future in the hands of the expertise of Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Dr. Jessica Griffin and Pastor Calvin Roberson who would help them find perfect match.

After interviewing the reality star hopefuls and visiting their homes, the three experts came with the final eights people to match up. Those who were set for a wild ride were Jasmine McGriff, 29, Will Guess, 37, Stephanie Sersen, 35, AJ Vollmoeller, 37, Kristine Killingsworth, 28, Keith Dewar, 29, Kate Sisk, 27, and Luke Cuccurullo, 30.

First couple to tie the knot was Jasmine and Will. The Lincoln University alums bonded well and their wedding went rather smoothly if not because of Jasmine's parents. They were against the idea of her joining the show. Her dad didn't show up at the wedding until the last minutes.

Meanwhile, the second couple Stephanie and AJ got married despite their differences. AJ, who revealed that he wanted to get married because he was sick of having dinner alone, was deemed compatible with Stephanie, a financial consultant who loved to travel. They surprisingly showed crazy chemistry at the altar. The newlyweds shared a love of beer and also Frenched during their photo shoot.

Kristine and Keith both are family-oriented, thus the experts thought they would be a perfect match. Before exchanging vows, Keith sent Kristine the surprise heart necklace which she loved. The two strangers' wedding will be featured in next week's episode but Keith could be seen beyond excited of his upcoming milestone. "I woke up single this morning, and I'm minutes away from meeting my wife for the very first time," Keith said while getting ready in his sharp white tux.

Kate wasn't going to stop searching for the love of her life even after the recent divorce of her parents. The hotel marketing specialist was matched with civil engineer Luke. He was so excited after finding out he was getting married, and was contemplating whether or not he should go in for a kiss when he met his mystery S.O.

While the two would not meet until the big day, Kate and Luke's mothers met prior to the ceremony. However, in a huge plot twist, the Lifetime show hinted that their wedding day wasn't actually the first time for Kate and Luke to meet. Before Kate reached the altar, Luke recognized her as they have met before. As for the details, fans have to wait for next week's episode to discover them.

"Married at First Sight" airs on Tuesdays at 8 P.M. on Lifetime.
