Miss Congo Dorcas Kasinde's wig catches fire moments after she's announced as the winner of the beauty pageant show.

AceShowbiz - Miss Congo Dorcas Kasinde's victorious moment at Miss Africa 2018 almost turned disastrous. Her hair went up in flames shortly after she was announced as the winner of the African beauty pageant show hosted by the Cross River State Government on Friday, December 28.

In a clip that has gone viral, Kasinde can be seen getting emotional as she's named the new Miss Africa. Crying tears of joy, she was embracing a fellow contestant while celebratory sparklers lit up the stage to congratulate her on her win.

But things turned scary when the sparks caught onto Kasinde's hair. It took a few seconds for the 24-year-old to realize the situation as she was overwhelmed by emotion. Thankfully, host Ebuka came to the rescue before things got out of control.

"For those asking, She is fine... the fire was put out immediately, she wore her crown and carried on like a true queen," one Twitter user who shared the video assured others who were concerned about Kasinde.

While it's obvious that the celebratory sparkles caused the fire, some Twitter users jokingly blamed Calabar witches for the incident. "Miss Congo won and calabar witch almost burn the poor girl," one wrote.

Kasinde beat out Chiamaka Nnaemeka from Nigeria and Gladys Kayumba from Zambia for the title of Miss Africa 2018. She was awarded with $35,000 and a sports utility vehicle. More than 30 contestants from 25 countries participated in the third annual event.
